Private Wadi Shab Hike & Swim Adventure with Bimmah Sinkhole
Overview
Wadi Shab is the wadi that appears on every Oman postcard, and this private day makes the most of it. After an early pickup we drive the coastal highway south, stopping first at the Bimmah Sinkhole — a limestone crater filled with clear blue-green water where you can take a first dip. At Wadi Shab a small boat carries us across the mouth of the wadi and the walk begins: 45 minutes along terraced plantations and boulder paths, with your guide pointing out the falaj channels and the best photo angles. The reward is a chain of three emerald pools; swim through them and, if you are comfortable, through a narrow gap in the rock into a hidden cave with a waterfall inside. We picnic in the shade before an easy return and stop for fresh juice on the way back to Muscat.
