Private Wahiba Sands & Wadi Bani Khalid 4x4 Adventure
Overview
Two of Oman's most contrasting landscapes in one private day. We leave Muscat early and cross the Hajar foothills to Wadi Bani Khalid, where spring-fed pools stay a deep, swimmable green all year round; there is time for a swim and a walk to the upper pools. After lunch the tarmac ends and your driver deflates the tyres for Wahiba (Sharqiya) Sands. Expect exhilarating dune driving, a stop at a Bedouin family home for coffee and dates, a chance to meet their camels, and — if you wish — sandboarding down the slopes. We climb the highest dune for sunset, then drive back to Muscat under the stars.

Best day of our honeymoon
Wadi Bani Khalid in the morning and Wahiba Sands in the afternoon — two completely different worlds. Sandboarding was a laugh and the camels were very photogenic.
Desert sunset with a Bedouin family
The dune driving was thrilling but safe, and the visit to the Bedouin home felt authentic rather than staged. Coffee, dates and the kindest people. The sunset from the top of the dune was magical.
